REMOND N°314 FR Philippe REMOND is an
experienced long distance runner to say the least
. World marathon champion
in 1997 he’s also been marathon champion
of France 3 times. It’s his first MARATHON
DES SABLES and he’s proud to have made it
here despite a knee injury during the Tahiti marathon
in February. Accompanied by a group of friends,
he sees every stage of the race as a discovery
and aims to finish among the first.
Today’s stage allowed him to weigh up the
competition. He’s struck by the facility
with which the AHANSAL brothers seem to read the
pistes.
He’s keeping his head firmly on his shoulders
though and intends to make the most of this experience
including discovering the desert and its captivating
landscapes. His adopted saying: « life
is a valuable thing lost when you haven’t lived
the way you wanted”.
