Having finished in 4th position on last year’s
MARATHON DES SABLES, Touda Didi’s back, better
prepared and determined to try and secure a place
on the podium this time round.
She’s been running from a young age and certainly
doesn’t lack drive but has found it difficult
to find her place as a female athlete in such a conservative
society. It’s thanks to the unfailing support
of her parents that’s she’s able to take
part in the race.
Solid and down to earth, Touda does not underestimate
her rivals, she’s even made them her friends.
Winning the women’s race on MDS would certainly
be « highest possible reward » and no
doubt boost her sporting career here in Morocco and
why not on the international scene. Touda’s
dream is to be the first Moroccan female to win MDS.
