Feet
Elaine Guthrie (723),
from Glasgow, had to give up yesterday after no less
than 6 perfusions. She
was all the more gutted as she’s one of the
(very) few competitors with perfect blister-free
feet! Let her dad be reassured though (he did make
her promise to take good care of herself): she’s
fine now.
Fight
Last night wasn’t very peaceful: a proper
sand storm shook the bivouac for a solid hour.
Many tents collapsed on the competitors. Patrick
Craig (697), an Irish police officer, testified
: « I was dreaming I was having a fight with
Mohammed Ali, which woke me up…I was actually
fighting with my tent».
They’re still
here !
On the morning of the
long stage, Gillian Blake (673) was most happy
to note that no Irish competitor
had given up so far. Would you have guessed Gillian
was Irish?
Heros
Mohamad Ahansal (1) approached the 4th check
point of the long stage in triumphant style. Twenty
kids
from the village of Tafraout, where all know of
his family’s exploits, were running with
him.
Remorse
British competitor Ian Harryman officially
expressed his wish to be welcome by a middle-aged
large-breasted
woman on the finish line. The following day, he
got in touch with our services and begged us to
add : « Maria, I love you ! Big kiss to Maive
and Katy ».
Done.
Positive
Bruno Macquet (51), real French Northerner,
exclaimed after 46 km of running on rocks under
the sun : « at
any rate, it’s better than to be at work!”.
We’re not sure this is good news to his employer
and colleagues.
