STAGE N°3 : OUED EL JDAID / BA HALLOU – 40,5 Km
Km 0 : Go S/W (bearing 218°) until Km 6.3. Slight upwards slope. Series of very small stony glens and sandy wadis.
Km 5 : Stay a bit on the left of valley, passing rocky mountain peak on your right.
Km 6,3 : Rocky mountain peak on your right. Go S/W (bearing 222°) until CP1.
Km 8,1 : Cross sandy wadi then slightly stony terrain in middle of occasional dunes.
Km 9,5 : Enter dunes. Take bearing 222° to cross the erg.
Km 13 : End of dunes. CP1. Go alongside dunes on your right. General direction is W/SW (bearing 250°) until Km 18.4.
Km 18,4 : End of dunes. Go West (bearing 281°) until km 19.5. Stony.
Km 19,5 : Foot of Foum Al Hopaht jebel. Climb in narrow gorge.
Km 20,5 : Jebel summit. Difficult descent over 200m.
Km 20,7 : End of difficult part of descent. Sandy descent, heading west (bearing 280°).
Km 22,7 : Beginning of dunes. Take bearing 288° to cross the erg.
Km 25,5 : CP2 at end of dunes. Go N/W (bearing 313°). Not very stony.
Km 25,9 : Go into dunes. Take bearing 313° to cross erg.
Km 28,8 : End of dunes. Go North (355°) to reach CP3.
Km 30 : Cross track. Go alongside Rheris wadi on your left. Packed earth.
Km 34,3 : CP3 to left of a small hill. Go N/NW (bearing 348°). Packed earth.
Km 37,3 : Ba Hallou ruins on your right. Go N/W (bearing 330°). Small dunes.
Km 39,8 : End of small dunes. Gravel.
Km 40,5 : Finish line. Bivouac n°4.
