STAGE N°5 : OUED AHSSIA / ISK N’BRAHIM– 42,2 Km
Km 0 : Go W/NW (bearing 305°) to reach Rich Merzoug jebel. Flat ground. Gravel.
Km 4,5 : Summit of small pass in Rich Merzoug. Go W/NW (bearing 296°).
Km 7,2 : Occassional dunes, tamarisks. Stony in parts, sandy river bed with vegetation.
Km 11,5 : CP1 at foot of Bou Lalhirh jebel. Climb up to take the pass in the jebel.
Km 12 : Summit of the pass. Descend and cross stony valley to reach the second hill.
Km 13,5 : Summit of second hill. Difficult descent.
Km 13,7 : Go W/NW (bearing 285°) to cross stony plateau.
Km 16 : End of plateau. Cross sandy wadi, go alongside dunes on your right.
Km 18,2 : Palm trees on your left in the wadi. Same direction. Sand and stones.
Km 20,7 : At the end of stony section, follow branch of wadi to avoid the fields and go alongside hill on your left.
Km 22,5 : CP2 near palm trees on left bank of wadi. Follow sandy river bed.
Km 23,3 : Aït Kherdi ruins on your right.
Km 24,1 : Go alongside the palm grove and ruins of Ahandar taking right bank of wadi.
Km 26,3 : End-point of small hill on your left. Sandy.
Km 27,8 : Cross track (concrete bridge on your right). Stay in the wadi.
Km 28,2 : Village of Aït Haddou on your left.
Km 28,7 : Palm grove and small dunes. Follow the markings carefully.
Km 29,7 : After the ruins on your left, palm grove ends at well-shaft. Cross Khing wadi.
Km 30,7 : Enter Khing palm grove. BEWARE ! You MUST follow the markings to avoid crossing fields of crops.
Km 31 : CP3 in palm grove. Follow the markings and go alongside the sand protection-barriers on your left.
Km 31,2 : Go through area with barriers. Well-shafts. Slightly stony wadi. Go west (bearing 260°) until Km 39.8.
Km 32,7 : Two rocky peaks on your left. Terrain is not very stony.
Km 34,1 : Rocky peak on your left. Not very stony.
Km 38 : Cross wadi with vegetation over 700m.
Km 39,8 : End-point of hill on your left. Go W/SW (bearing 239°). Not very stony.
Km 42,2 : Finish line. Bivouac n°6.
