We are at the finish line and José has just finished, worn out with a few scars on his nose.
This was a stage full of painful events. He scraped his nose in a big fall and was a little shaken up. Then a thorn went through his shoe and lodged itself in his foot. A “medical stop” to manage on top of everything.
Despite all these disappointments, José crossed the line in 12th place and, this evening is 11th in the overall rankings. A very impressive performance, although we can understand his tired appearance at the finish line.
José, participating in his second MDS, is doing very well.
An important motivating factor is spurring him on: he is waiting for the birth of his first child, due immediately upon his return.
