United in life and in their efforts
As the old saying goes, we marry for better and for worse. Alain (d 186-fr) and Agnès Quevenard (d 187-fr) have come to put this into practice on the terrain of the 25th Sultan Marathon des Sables. This couple from Antibes have been realising their passion for extreme races for a few years now. After preparing for almost a year, Alain, a 62 year-old consultant and Agnès, a 45 year-old financial manager, are both here for the 25th Marathon des Sables. Starting the race as a pair, they are not, nevertheless, going to tackle it together. “We would love to run together, but we don’t have the same rhythm. Alain is faster than me’’. On the other hand, the two Côte d’Azur fans will unite for the 82 km marathon stage. ‘’Running the big stage with Agnès will be a pleasure. It will allow us to support each other through the difficult times”. In the same way, they would like to cross the finishing line in Merzouga together. Alain has a neat phrase to sum up the Sultan Marathon des Sables: in my opinion, the Sultan Marathon des Sables is the equivalent of Paris-Dakar for motor racing’’.
