A tent against illness
There’s a French saying that goes something like: chance occurrences are lucky ones. It certainly is true when it comes to tent 26 and its seven competitors, here to raise awareness about cystic fibrosis. But originally they didn’t all know each other. The performance of the tent on the track is rather impressive: after the first stage, their rankings went from the 49th to the 181st place. Philippe (413-FR), Jean-Michel (414-FR), Hervé (412-FR), and Renaud (411-FR) are here for 10 years old Marine, Renaud’s daughter, and for a charity called Mucojoretapo. As to Albert (234-FR), Clément (236-FR) and Jérôme (235-FR), they’re here for 8 years old Nicolas, also suffering from cystic fibrosis. When they run for such a cause, runners give the best of themselves. Here’s but one example: during the 3rd stage, Jérôme was very tempted to give up, but all it took was hearing Nicolas’s name to get him through the finish line in good time, first of his tent. No small achievement!
