A family affair!
73 years old grand-father Claude Léonardi (338-FR), 45 years old father Thierry Léonardi (339-FR) and 17 years old grand-son Loïc Giacometti (340-FR) : three generations of Corsicans on the 25th Sultan Marathon des Sables. All three of them are members of the AS Figarella, sport club celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and they decided to try their luck on the desert tracks together. In the morning of the 4th stage, Loïc confessed to being rather sick of it. He even acknowledged the race was more difficult that the GR20, the famous treck across Corsica! But he soon forgot his tiredness upon hearing that the Bastia Sporting Club had won against the hereditary football enemy, Ajaccio. All three could then set off serenely for the mammoth stage of the 25th Sultant Marathon des Sables. One goal: be done as soon as possible and get a good nap. A strategy made in Corsica!
